My name is Hank Cioccari. I have been hunting and fishing the southeastern portions of the Catskill Mountains for 30 years.  I have exclusive rights to hunt over 2,000 acres of "private" land in Schoharie, Delaware, Chenango, Otsego and Westchester Counties of New York state.  Yes, Westchester County too!  I have access to various lakes and rivers in these counties,  for the fishing enthusiasts as well. I guide for big Stripers on the Hudson River and for Large and Smallmouth Bass, trout, walleye, Pickerel, Northern Pike and Steelhead.  All hunts and fishing trips are  limited due to seasonal specifications and the county you wish to hunt or fish in. So book as early as possible !

The northern New York archery season opens late September running until mid October, followed by a week long muzzleloading season. The regular firearm season starts in late October and runs for approximately five weeks, and is followed again by one additional week of muzzleloader hunting. All deer hunting is done on thousands of acres of private and leased land and are stand hunts (tree stands, shooting houses, ground blinds). We hunt deer in a wide range of areas - swamps, cutovers, hardwoods and agriculture. The rut usually starts mid November lasting past the end of the season. At this time of year there is usually snow on the ground most of the time.

Our most popular tour . . . Constitution Marsh, just south of the Village of Cold Spring, provides a protected area for beginner kayakers to feel comfortable in the water.  We paddle thru a scenic marshland, full of plant and wildlife, for lunch at a waterfall and a visit to the Audubon Museum!  Waterproof lunch included. 4 - 5 hours

hiking. Come to Hudson Valley Outfitters before your hike to pick up a map and we'll give you some suggestions for the day.

Bull Hill/Mt. Taurus    3.8 miles - Intermediate

This trailhead is walking distance from the Cold Spring Train Station.  The trail starts up a sparsely wooded area headed for an abandoned quarry.  As the trail climbs steeply it offers fantastic views over the Hudson to Storm King, Breakneck Ridge, the Shawangunks, and finally the Catskills in the far distance.

Breakneck Ridge      2.5 miles - Advanced

One of the most rugged and scenic of the park trails, the Breakneck Ridge Trail follows an open ridge from the Hudson River to the top of South Beacon Mountain.  Perched high above the Hudson, the views at the summit are breathtaking and is an ideal place to rest after a demanding hike.
