It is a salmon and steelhead fishing adventure. This fishing trip is unique because it is a one way, 65 mile journey down the 'Wild and Scenic' Rogue River, a spectacular place filled with history, romance and adventures of the Old West. The scenery and wildlife are so spectacular that the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management has protected it by declaring the area 'Wild and Scenic'. We have been professionally guiding for trophy browns and rainbows on the Owyhee River, since 2003. Located in a high desert canyon, just 50 miles from Boise, Idaho. We fish the Owyhee year round with the exception of Oct. & Nov. when they spawn. The vast smorgasbord of insects provide the food source for the abundant fish population. Not only are there great numbers of fish, but also great numbers of large fish. The average size of the brown trout are 17-21 inches with a few monsters at 2 feet plus. |

Fish for the Rogue's famous fighting gamefish, steelhead and Chinook salmon, from aluminum, dory-style driftboats. No soggy tennis shoes in these boats. You stay dry, so you can fish in a wider range of seasons. The fish are migratory, and beginning in January, you can expect to see the first of the winter-run steelhead. In April, count on seeing the spring Chinook. The fall run of both steelhead and Chinook salmon begins in August. We use only state of the art equipment and supply you with everything you'll need to stay safe, warm, and happy. We provide all the equipment you'll need except for personal items such as sun screen, sun glasses with keepers, a hat, a heavy wool or poly sweater (not cotton), a full water bottle, and sandals, wet shoes or tennis shoes you can get wet. We carry a few things in our store in case you forgot something. At the minimum bring a swimming suit or something you'd be comfortable in getting wet. Our hiking trips include a knowledgeable trail guide who will hike with you, delicious lunches that are set up and waiting at predetermined locations and overnight lodging (with hearty meals, a hot shower and comfortable beds) at Black Bar, Marial, Paradise and Clay Hill Lodges. The best part of the hiking trail is that you only need to carry a daypack for your camera and water, as our rafts will carry the trip gear and food. And, if you'd like to take a break from hiking, you are welcome to ride in our rafts and enjoy some of the river's exciting whitewater. A well maintained hiking trail parallels the Rogue River for 40 miles from Grave Creek to Foster Bar. The trail affords spectacular views of the river canyon, frequent Glimpses of wildlife, and takes you to historic points of interest along the way. Many of our guests spend part of a day hiking, reuniting with our group at lunch or camp. Hiking is not difficult although some sections have moderately strenuous switchbacks to higher elevations. If you enjoy hiking, bring appropriate footwear and a small pack for water and snacks. There will be hiking opportunities on every day of your trip. |

There is so much to see and so little time to see it in the Wallowa Mountains of northeastern Oregon.
